How to install Windows Essential 2012 on Windows 10

Windows 10 no longer provides the component of the Windows Essential especially the much needed Windows Movie Maker. The program is very simple for basic video editing such as trimming video and add sub-title for YouTube.

Here you can still download Windows Essentials to get the Windows Movie Maker component:

If the installation of Windows Essential 2012 is corrupted - for example you cannot view or locate Windows Movie Maker or the Windows Essential installed file in the Control Panel Uninstall Program. Follow the following command

a. Go to Start ->All Programs ->Accessories

b. Right click on
Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator

c. Run the following commands to uninstall Windows Live Essentials:

· (64 bit) "c:\program files (x86)\windows live\installer\wlarp.exe" /cleanup:all /q

· (32 bit) "c:\program files\windows live\installer\wlarp.exe" /cleanup:all /q

Once the process is done re-install the Windows Essential
