How to make iron acetate solution

Iron acetate produce by a chemical solution that react with iron metal. It's dark red in color just like when the metal rust. Here i am making acetate iron acetate using vinegar and rusted nail.

How to make Iron Acetate

1. Pour in some vinegar. Note that the higher the acidity concentration speed up the Iron acetate formation. Use a distilled white vinegar to get better result. You can add some hydrogen peroxide to make the solution more reactive although not necessary

2. Find badly rusted nails and soak it into the vinegar for a couple of days.

3. You will notice the clear solution turn into dark reddish color - and you are done making iron acetate solution.

Some of the iron acetate usage in our daily life is for wooden floor dye.
