How to make the PVC glue stronger

How to keep hold strong on the PVC pipe joints?

1. First before applying the glue, create a rough surface on the PVC where the glue is to be applied using a tool like rough sand paper or anything tool with rough edges (metal file). This is to prevent the smooth surface of the PVC to cause the glue slip away when water pressure is strong.

2. Apply Teflon tape if necessary to seal any gaps and keep the joint tights.

3. After that apply the glue and connect the joints together. Make sure it is tight, if not add more taps and glue again. Once it is done heat ups the area where the glue is apply using blowtorch or (lighter or candles). Be careful not to use too much heat until the PVC melt, just enough to chemically bond the glue together with the PVC. Then leave it for 10 to 15 minutes the joint will be as strong as if the pipe without joint.

Note that using fire (lighter or candles) also can be used to loosen the joints of the PVC. Especially for old pipeline.
