However if you are using Kaspersky Anti-virus or Internet Security you may having difficulties to find a direct option how to block a specific website. And because of this everyone else also wondering why Kaspersky does not provide such option where it can be easily noticeable.
Anyway in order to block a specific website using Kaspersky Anti Virus or Internet Security 2011 we must go to the firewall settings and create new packet rules. Follow the step below how to create and configure new packet rules to block a website. I am using Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 but i believe it should have the exact same user interface for Kaspersky Antivirus 2011 as well.
Step 1: Click on Kaspersky icon on the task bar and windows will pop up. Click on "Protection Center" tab and then click on "Online Security" windows then Firewall then settings.
Step 2: On setting windows click on "packet rules" tab and click Add to create new packet rule.
Step 3: On packet rule window
Set Action: Block
Set Name: Up to your preferences (i.e. block site or a specific name of your choice)
Set Protocol: Leave it unchecked
Set Direction: Inbound/outbound
Set Address (remote): Set address from the list
- Add new IP address of the website or the DNS (Domain Name System) you want to block: Example 192.168.1.3 or hey199.com.
- Add the exact IP address the remote address: Example 192.168.1.3 or hey199.com
Step 4: click OK and It's Done. Now test your firewall's packet rule by visiting the website you blocked. If you are unable to visit then it is working properly.
thanks! it was very helpful!
