Simple 4 Volt DC to 400 Volt AC output circuit using mini step up transformer
Simplest DC to AC inverter circuit using 2 Phase primary 1 phase secondary mini step-up transformer powered by TIP41C NPN transistor. This circuit can step up 4 Volt DC to 400 Volt AC
1. What is the turns-ratio of the transformer being used?
** I am not sure the turn ratio because that is factory made transformer salvaged from power supply but i can tell you the inductance value
Phase 1A = 25 micro Henry Phase 1B = 325 micro Henry Phase 2 (High Voltage = 0.67 Henry
2. How can I use this transformer in my Simulink model? -- To be honest i am not familiar with simulink software
3. What is the frequency of the output AC voltage and current? Is it pure sine? If not, what is its Total Harmonic Distortion (THD)? **Frequency around 3500 Khz
4. Can you explain how the circuit is actually working? (waveforms at the all the three terminals of the transformer etc.)
* Very simple the transistor is the switching component. Because of the switch turn on and off the low voltage side transfer its energy to the high voltage side
3500khz is a lot--3500000hz. Can you explain the need for 2 Phase primary 1 phase secondary? What is the principle of operation? Thank you for the answers and explanations.
If the transformer using 1 primary the voltage step generation will be much less..compare to two phase primary. 1 phase primary transformer probably generates around 100 volt or so while two phases can go up to 500 volt...not that the primary winding for each is not exactly the same some are 1 is more while another is less -- you can know this by measuring the inductance value and here is the video you can learn from How to identify step up transformer
Lower the frequency will take more circuit involved that need precision research. However to make 1.2 volt to 300 volt depends on the transformer and also the transistor capability...this you have to experiment yourself because the variable is too general.
You need to find out the connected pins of the transformer and also the high voltage and low voltage side of the transformer before you can use it properly...watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1wXJY42mzM
Hi, in AC you don't really need a lower voltage because high voltage AC cover all the low voltage...for example 220 volt AC can power up anything that is 220 volt and below it...the voltage doesn't really matter...which you can also power up a device that uses 20 volt AC...do you mind what voltage you need and device do you intend to power up
Aaaa...that's very easy...you don't need to lower the voltage...and it doesn't matter if your electromagnet only need 12...voltage won't do any harm to it..
Usually why fry anything in electricity is the amp...
Two questions: 1) I am using a 12v lipo to power the magnets, is there anything in your inverter that needs to change to cope with the higher voltage? 2) Where did you source your transformer from?
And also add a 1uF capacitor at the output to regulate the voltage spike. Maybe this circuit suit you best http://howtodosteps.blogspot.my/2016/12/12-dc-battery-to-220-ac-inverter-circuit.html
I couldn't recall either that was purchased from ebay or aliexpress or salvaged somewhere from faulty electronic devices -- caused there are bunch of them and i just took it to test on the video.
Yes definitely you can also use 2 AA batteries = 3 Volt see this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-TpfTEtHH0 it can still light up even at 0.9 volt although not so bright
I have a 12 volt dc motor for a hydroelectric project, and I want to convert the electricity (about 3 volts)from that to power a small aquarium water pump. Is that possible with this inverter?
In any case, if you somehow managed to close entryways just a single territory would be cool and alternate territories that were chilled would swelter hot. Same goes for the second story of your home. Hot air rises so everything that hot air that was once in your home is presently upstairs. furnace repair patterson

I have some queries related to this experiment:

3. What is the frequency of the output AC voltage and current? Is it pure sine? If not, what is its Total Harmonic Distortion (THD)?

The transistor switching back and forth that is all that make the frequency
DeleteOk. Let me ask this way: Why does there NEED to be Two primaries?

change the resistor to 5 KOhm and you might need heatsink for the transistor

ReplyDeletehi, i want to use a 12V to create a over 1000W inverter with your circuit. Any help for me on which transformer to use?
ReplyDeleteThanks.
That would drain the battery really fast - but anyway look for mosfet and high power transformer
